How To Knit Mittens
Date: Saturday September 24, 10:00am - 12:00pm
In this 2 hour class, you’ll learn how to make your first mitten, using an infant sized mitten as a starting project. Starting at the cuff, you’ll learn to separate your knitting for the thumb, close of the hand, and pick up stitches for a perfect thumb. At the end of the class you’ll leave with a full size mitten pattern that follows all the exact same steps so you’ll know just what to do!
About Robbie: A knitwear designer and instructor living in Toronto, Ontario, Robbie has designed patterns for Estelle Yarns and Rib Magazine, as well as publishing Architexutre: Shape and Design - a knitting pattern book that allows the beauty of the yarn to shine with the shawl; hat and glove patterns designed by Robbie.
Duration/Sessions: 2 hour session
Project: Infant/Ornament sized mitten
Skill Level: Must know how to knit and purl. Previous experience knitting in the round is required.
Required Materials: 4.5mm double pointed needles, or 32” circular needle for magic loop. 20g of worsted weight yarn, tapestry needle and scissors. You must be comfortable with the method of knitting in the round that you choose prior to this class!
