Intarsia - the art of colour work

Date: Saturday January 29, 1:00-3:00pm

Intarsia is a wonderful technique used to knit large areas of colour! In this class you’ll learn how to switch colours mid row without holes, follow a colour chart, and knit an adorable heart square that you can use to patch a much loved garment, or sew on as a pocket!

About Robbie:  A knitwear designer and instructor living in Toronto, Ontario, Robbie has designed patterns for Estelle Yarns and Rib Magazine, as well as publishing Architexture: Shape and Design - a knitting pattern book that allows the beauty of the yarn to shine with the shawl; hat and glove patterns designed by Robbie.

Duration/Sessions: 2 hour session

Project: Intarsia patch

Skill Level: Intermediate. 

Knitting and Purling and the ability to differentiate between knit and purl stitches

Required Materials:

20g each of two contrasting colours of worsted weight yarn
4.0mm needles for working flat (straight, or 24” circular is recommended)


Minimum of 2 for class to proceed: option for refund or reschedule if minimum not met
