Mosaic knitting is a deceptively simple colourwork technique which uses only one colour at a time, but can create intricate patterns in your knitting. We will make a hat. Several days before the class you will be sent instructions for casting on and knitting the brim of the hat so that in class we can get right to working with two colours!
Learning outcomes: mosaic/slip stitch colourwork
Required Skills: knitting in the round with 16" circular needles
Required Materials (not included in course fee):
50g of dk weight yarn (main colour)
50g of dk weight yarn (contrast colour)
3.5mm 16" circular needles, for cast on and brim
4.5mm 16" circular needles for body
4.5mm dpns for crown, stitch markers
Homework: the students will be required to knit the brim of the hat before the class starts.
Class: 1 x 2 hour session – January 28, 2022 – 1:00-3:00pm
