Introduction to Lace Knitting

Date: Saturday February 15, 1:00 - 3:00pm

In this 2 hour class, you’ll learn the fundamental skills required to get you started with lace knitting.

You’ll learn the increases and decreases used to make intentional holes in your knitting, as well as how to read lace charts and how to see the pattern in your knitting, all while making a dishcloth lace sampler!

Our Group classes are suitable for ages 16 and up. For children under the age of 16, please contact the shop to book a private lesson on one of our class days.
 
Robbie Laughlin is a knitwear designer, instructor and photographer from Toronto. He has designed patterns for many sources, including mittens, shawls, scarves and other accessories.

 

Duration/Sessions: 2 hour session

Project: Dishcloth Lace Sampler

Skill Level: must know how to cast on and off, knit and purl.

Materials: One 50g ball of worsted weight cotton yarn, 4.0-4.5mm needles if any type.

Homework: Cast on 27 sts, and knit 6 rows.

 

Minimum of 2 for class to proceed: option for refund or reschedule if minimum not met
