Tunisian Crochet Class

Tunisian crochet is a hybrid of both knitting and crochet!

 

Traditionally, Tunisian Crochet uses a long, specialized crochet hook to keep multiple active loops on the hook simultaneously—similar to knitting—but works them off in a forward and return pass to create a dense, textured fabric, often referred to as "Afghan Stitch".  This specialized stitch is perfect for creating decor items such as pillows or Afghans, but has become more popular of late and can be used for garments.

For this class, we will use a regular crochet hook (provided) so that you can learn the techniques of the stitch with a simple coaster project.

Our Group classes are suitable for ages 16 and up. For children under the age of 16, please contact the store to book a private lesson on one of our class days or a Kids Class.

Skill Level: No previous experience required

Required Materials:

One 50g ball of worsted weight cotton yarn, 4.5mm crochet hook, two locking stitch markers.
